Kenya Premier League action returned this weekend from the international break with teams looking to capitalize on their well-deserved break to improve their table standings.

KCB FC and Tuskers FC locked horns at the Ruaraka Sports Ground in a thrilling encounter that ended in a dramatic 1-1 draw. KCB’s forward Derick Otanga opened the scoreline in the 14th minute scoring a free-kick after KCB FC’s captain Simon Abuko was fouled right outside the box. Tusker FC equalized in the 90th minute in a controversial refereeing decision that ensured the teams shared points at the final whistle.

KCB Coach Zedekiah Zico lauded his boys for claiming proper control of the game despite failing to hold on to the win.

“played very well we controlled the game considering we were playing on their home ground. We were in control for 90 minutes. Sometimes that is football and we take it as it is.”

Meanwhile in another Kenya Premier League game that was played at the Nyayo National Stadium, AFC Leopards thrashed Kenya Police FC 3-0. Ingwe’s goals were scored by Victor Omune, John Mark Makwatta, and Eugene Mukangula.

The star of the important league tie was Victor Omune, who scored a goal and provided an assist to ensure AFC Leopards improved their points tally to 31 points.

In other matches played, Nairobi City Stars managed to grab 3 points after beating Bandari FC 2-1. Homeboyz thrashed UlinziStars 4-0, while Gor Mahia beat Wazito FC  2-1. Nzoia Sugar’sgame against Vihiga Bullets ended with a barren draw after both teams were unable to find either side of the net. Posta Rangers grabbed three points after beating Mathare United 2-1.
