World Marathon Record Holder and two-time Olympic Gold medalist Eliud Kipchoge took part in a Skills Workshop for the Kenya Men and Women’s Rugby teams ahead of their preparations for the forthcoming Africa Rugby and World Cup qualifiers.

The Event which was organised by Isuzu East Africa and the Kenya Rugby Union was attended by Isuzu East Africa Managing Director Rita Kavashe. Also present were board members of the Kenya Rugby Union led by the Chairman Geoffrey Gangla, Hiroshi Hisatomi, Chairman of Isuzu East Africa and representatives from the Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF) who are running a life skills training program for the Women’s Ruby team Rugby officials and players.

Eliud Kipchoge spoke about the importance of Self Discipline,Value systems for sports peoples.

“Value is the compound interest of self-improvement. You cannot be successful if you do not have the right systems which include coaches, management and teams”

On her part Isuzu East Africa Managing Director Rita Kavashe commended Eliud Kipchoge for being a good Sports ambassador and a role model to many people globally.

“Eliud Kipchoge is indeed a once in a lifetime occurrence that goes into history books every generation. We are very pleased that his exploits on the track have happened during our lifetime”.

The training session reiterated the relationship between Isuzu East Africa and Kenya Rugby Union.Since 2016 the company has been at the centre of the transport logistics arrangement that has seen both the men’s and Women’s teams benefit from the arrangement.

Early last month 27 Lionesses graduated from the two-year Lionesses Arise Livelihoods Project launched in late 2019 as part of a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative between the company and the Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF).
