Equity Dumas were the greatest beneficiaries of Ulinzi Warriors ex-players. Victor Bosire and James Mwangi jumped ship and joined the bankers’ side, teaming up with veteran guard Victor Electric Ochieng and American, Faisal Aden. A bold move by the bankers who have hopes of breaking the jinx and making it to the finals. For years since being promoted to the top flight league, the Dumas have been in the shadow of their ladies’ team, Equity Hawks, who have won multiple championships and dominated in the regional FIBA Zone V championship.
Will this be the year? The answer depends on how well the new additions mesh and fit in the the system. How they share the ball will be key in their quest to winning that elusive title.
Losing to defending champions KPA also showed basketball fans that the Dumas have a lot of work to do in order to be a championship team.
Kenyan Basketball fans are keen to see if Faisal Aden’s sharp shooting and Bosire’s defensive prowess will power the Dumas to a title. For now, we watch.
